The National Catholic Broadcasting Council (NCBC), based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, continues to play an important part in the daily lives of Canadians who cherish the spirituality of Mass and Eucharistic celebration. Since 1996, it remains a highly regarded not-for-profit / registered charity organization contributing to the support of the Catholic faith with Daily Mass and spiritual messages and, the annual Lenten Mission. NCBC reaches out across Canada and beyond to a loyal audience that includes many unable to attend at their church, through television, electronic and social media. The web site is www.canadiandailymass.com.
The President is the “face” of NCBC and reports to an independent and dedicated Board of Directors that is chaired by Bishop Richard Grecco, Diocese of P.E.I. The President’s main operating focus will be to oversee timely Daily Mass productions for broadcast six days per week, celebrations that speak to the Catholic spiritual tradition and keeping people and the Church connected. The NCBC team comprises a dedicated group of priests, readers and cantors; experienced TV production professionals; and, capable administrative support personnel who interface and work closely with the large donor base.
This unique opportunity calls for a proven leader who is well regarded within the Catholic community, a broadcast media generalist who has a demonstrated “on air” presence; and, a knowledge of TV production including scheduling and logistics. The imperative is to build upon an existing, highly successful organization and the vital role that it plays. The new President will provide a smooth transition for the existing operation while remaining faithful to the legacy of the vision, mission and values of NCBC. This position is “hands-on” and demands:
A strategic, contemporary leadership style; solid interpersonal and communication skills;
Relevant financial and operating management experience ideally acquired in a not-for-profit /registered charity environment; and,
A person who can reach key stakeholders including its loyal Catholic TV community, the Board of Directors; and, all levels within the Catholic Church.
NCBC will continue the mission based on the founding principles of Catholic stewardship and core values essential to building a better community.
